This modern course occupying two valleys was just opened in 2004. Yet it is already one of the most prestigious courses in Andalucia, not to mention it also being one of its most beautiful. The open views look down on the Mediterranean Sea from every tee. This is 7,370 yards long course from the back tees, and very spacious. The greens and fairways are large and wide with plenty of water hazards to negotiate. The white sand-filled bunkers are the personal hallmark of the designer Cabell Robinson. The abundant trees, bushes and heather gave a feeling of maturity which belie the relative youth of the golf course. Five starting tees are available at each hole. La Reserva de Sotogrande, is unashamedly exclusive and caters to the upper-end of the market. The clubhouse is built around a central patio and fountain. The building with a distinct Arabic flavor exudes luxury and leaves you feeling of having strayed into somebody’s country mansion. Lunch, of a standard in keeping with the surroundings, may be enjoyed on a magnificent terrace overlooking the 18th green.
